Christopher Eubanks is making the most of the 2023 season. He has climbed over a hundred places in rankings since January. Eubanks has been one of the rising stars and is currently ranked No. 31. He has won eighteen matches this year out of thirty. In the last three events he played, Eubanks reached the quarterfinals in all of them.
With Novak Djokovic leading the Grand Slam race, the question of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal has popped up multiple times. When asked the same to Eubanks, he said, “you can argue that Federer meant more to the sport. I’m not really going to argue on that, if that’s what your GOAT means. Mine is just best all around tennis player. Djokovic is probably going to be the best out of everyone”.
There is a debate about the greatest of all time in major sports. As time progresses, the benchmark increases. However, his opinions did trigger some fans:
Chris Eubanks on GOAT debate:

Novak is the best tennis player ever. Like it or leave it and what difference does it make. They are all phenomenal and we aspire to be like them. No one has Novak’s discipline.

In my opinion there isn’t one, because no one is going to top Nadal on clay (14 French Open titles and would be even more if he wasn’t injured).

The 27-year-old was honest with his answer. In the title race, Djokovic has been able to edge out his competitors. But the question lingers about the player’s contribution to the game.
Federer has been among the biggest names on the ATP tour, along with Nadal and Djokovic in recent debates. There are a lot of answers on which player is the most complete, and Eubanks has given Djokovic the complete player title.
Chris Eubanks’ Wimbledon record and targeting top 20 rankings
Chris Eubanks was one of the biggest crowd-pullers at Wimbledon. He hit 321 winners on his way to the quarterfinals, the most by any male player. Andre Agassi had hit 317 winners in 1992, and the 6-foot-7-inch giant beat it. Eubanks will next look to bring his power to the US Open as he makes his way to the hard courts.
The American has smart playmaking ability, which he mixes with raw power. He sets up his opponent deep in the court and finishes with a sharp volley, a tactic that was efficient at Wimbledon. It will be interesting to see whether Eubanks uses the same strategy at the upcoming events. If he can mix up his play on each surface and his groundstrokes, then it is a match-winning ploy.
Eubanks’s next target will also be to enter the top 20 rankings this season. Currently, four Americans are in the top 30, and Eubanks is the senior in the group. He has little experience or time left, but his deep understanding of the game makes up for it.
