Alexandre Pantoja battered Brandon Moreno in a dominant decision win
Pantoja gave Moreno his hardest defeat to date at UFC Fight Night 129 in Chile in 2018. The Brazilian beat and bruised Moreno on the feet and on the ground to win a decisive match by scores of 30-26, 30-26, and 29-27. Pantoja (25-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) and Moreno (21-6-2 MMA, 9-3-2 UFC) will fight again on July 8 in Las Vegas as the co-main event of UFC 290.
Moreno is fresh off a championship unification fight in which he fought Deiveson Figueiredo to capture the tetralogy at UFC 283 in Brazil in January. Moreno is 7-1-2 since his loss to Pantoja, a run that saw him win the UFC flyweight championship, lose it, and then return it.
Pantoja, on the other hand, is 6-2 since beating Moreno. He is now on a three-fight winning run, with his most recent victory coming in July 2022 over Alex Perez.
