Rafael Fiziev has seen great success inside the Octagon lately. Currently, ‘Ataman‘ is in the best form of his career and on a six-fight winning streak. Most recently, Fiziev defied expectations and delivered a brilliant performance against Rafael Dos Anjos, knocking out the veteran in the fifth round.
In a surprising turn of events, an MMA and Muay Thai gym in Thailand accused Fiziev of stalling rent. The gym took to Twitter: “#PayYourRent Fiziev owes 3 months rent for over 3 years to Thai house owner. Has written to them saying he would pay multiple times, but never has. Doesn’t dispute owing rent just doesn’t want want to pay it. @Justin_Gaethje please collect the rent”

Moreover, the allegations were in response to a tweet by UFC lightweight Renato Moicano, where he was expressing his thoughts on Rafael Fiziev being the underdog against Gaethje. As such, Moicano who lost to Fiziev at UFC 265 stated, “there’s no way he (Fiziev) will lose (to Gaethje).”
Interestingly, Phuket Top Team also reveal that they have the necessary“paperwork and messages to prove it.” Fortunately, the documents are yet to emerge on Twitter. Naturally, a lot of people are seeing the funny side of the affair, realizing that the rent is a relatively minuscule amount.
Notably, Fiziev is yet to publicly respond to the accusations against him. However, fans doubt that he should have much trouble paying it, seeing that he has made approximately $250,000 in bonuses from his last five fights.
Fan asks Justin Gaethje to punish Rafael Fiziev
Currently, Fiziev is gearing up for his fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 286 on Saturday, March 18. Previously, the Azerbaijani fighter called out Gaethje and claimed that it was the fight the fans want to see next. As such, Fiziev believes that a win against ‘The Highlight’ is his best route to a title shot.
Prior to the confirmation of the fight, Fiziev was already full of excitement after seemingly getting his wish. For once, fans were glad that Fiziev made good use of his post-fight callout rather than asking to fight Hasbulla or even Rafael Nadal.
Speaking about the fight Fiziev stated, “I’m not announcing anything, but the UFC promised us that I’ll be fighting Justin Gaethje in March. Everyone wants this fight, Dana White wants this fight. I was told to get ready for March. We’re waiting for the contract to make it official. That’s what it is as of now. If something changes, I’ll be shocked.”
Finally, things are now confirmed and some fans have even urged Gathje to win the Thai Gym’s rent. “Get his a**”, a user wrote, likely finding the situation amusing. However, for Gaethje, the matter is much more serious and presents him with the opportunity to get back to winning ways after losing 2 of his last three fights.
Will Fiziev win the fight he asked for and break into the Top 5? Or will Gaethje stop Fiziev’s hype train? What did you make of the rent situation? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
