In his latest ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast episode, host Joe Rogan opened up about losing his ‘hardest kick’ record. On JRE #2054, Rogan had invited Tesla CEO Elon Musk to discuss several topics. One of those topics was Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou.
Rogan enquired if Musk had watched the big debut of Ngannou in boxing. However, it seemed like Musk had no idea about it. Rogan explained the backstory about Ngannou being a former UFC Heavyweight champion but he vacated the belt to get an opportunity to fight Fury. The UFC color commentator further explained to Musk how Ngannou has the strongest punch recorded in MMA.
He said, “He’s [Ngannou] the hardest puncher ever measured in all of MMA. There’s a machine that we actually have outside at the gym and if you hit this thing, Francis is hit it harder than any person who’s ever lived.”
While speaking about Ngannou’s strength, Rogan also talked about his own kicking power. He said that he had set a record for the hardest kick on that machine. Ngannou’s punch was recorded to be 129,161 units on a PowerKube (which, according to Daily Mail, measures the power of a punch by analyzing its force, speed, and accuracy), on the other hand, Rogan has previously claimed that his kick recorded a staggering 152,000.
Although the record has now been broken. He said, “I had the record for the kick for a while… Somebody, a couple people, beat it now.”
MMA fighter Lorenz Larkin took up the opportunity to break the record and he did it in style.
Lorenz Larkin records an astounding 235,000 units on PowerKube to defeat Joe Rogan’s hardest kick record
In a video posted in 2018, Rogan showed extraordinary force as he kicked the machine to earn a score of 135,000 units. He later revealed that the highest he went was 152,000 units. It was a great achievement considering Rogan was over 50 years old by then and he was in jeans. However, not to forget, Rogan holds a black belt in taekwondo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

In February this year, Bellator MMA fighter Lorenz Larkin tried to break Rogan’s record on the PowerKube machine. He did it almost with ease. Larkin scored 235,000 units on the PowerKube to take over Rogan’s record.
Ngannou is not known for his kicks. But to think that his punch generated 129,161 units. We can only imagine what a score his strongest kick could generate.
