Khamzat Chimaev is one of the sport’s most noteworthy emerging stars, but fans are growing irritated with his absence from fight news and have spoken out. During a social media post, fans bombarded him with questions on when or if he will make it back to the Octagon.
Since entering the UFC, ‘Borz‘ has become a revelation, and he is perhaps the promotion’s biggest emerging star in many years. Since joining the organization in 2020, he has fought six times, winning all of them, with his sole challenging outing occurring in a fight-of-the-year candidate against Gilbert Burns. Not a long time ago, Chimaev posted a picture on Instagram, where fans lashed out at Chimaev for his absence from the Octagon. Chimaev hasn’t competed in over a year, which is unprecedented for a formidable competitor like him.
Recently, Joaquin Buckley, a middleweight contender in the UFC, reached out to Chimaev in a Tweet where he mentioned and insulted Chimaev’s mother. The tweet read, “Cause his momma raised a b*tch.”
Cause his momma raised a bitch 😂💯🙅🏿 https://t.co/h1UnACXp7D

This could mean Joaquin Buckley is asking for a fight against Chimaev. Loyal fans quickly came in support of Chimaev and were seen defending his pride.

Chimaev last entered the Octagon last in UFC 279 against Kevin Holland where he won against the latter via a submission. Fans are waiting patiently during his sudden unexpected absence after watching him fight three times a year since joining the organization.
Khamzat Chimaev’s altercation with Joaquin Buckley
Joaquin Buckley has been out and about his career in the UFC. Currently, he’s an unranked middleweight contender looking for a good comeback in the UFC. Last year, during UFC 273, Buckley had a conversation to get a fight against Darren Till. Chimaev who was also present with Darren Till looked eagerly to which way this could end.
Chimaev and Till were approached by unranked middleweight fighter Joaquin Buckley, who then challenged Till to a bout. “Hey Darren, c’mon bro, let me get it,” Buckley said. “You gotta let me get a fight bro, it’s been a minute, man. You know what I’m saying?
Later in another statement, Buckley stated, “He’s [Chimaev’s] at 170Ibs right now, I can’t worry about him, but you though, I need you!” ‘Borz’ appeared to take offense with Buckley’s actions and urged them to fight right now before security intervened to settle things down. “Hey, let’s fight now,” Chimaev shouted at Buckley. “You want to play gangster, I’m going to fuck you up. F****** b****.“F****** b****. Nobody knows him. He takes a picture then he talks about he wants to fight.” Chimaev stated.
As fans await fight updates, it appears like Khamzat Chimaev is coming back to the octagon at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi sometime this year, but who will he face remains the question.
