In one of the biggest rematches in UFC history, Francis Ngannou takes on Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 260. Ever since his first loss to Stipe Miocic, Francis Ngannou has reinvented himself and has gone an impressive winning streak.
Ngannou has knocked out all his opponents including some of the greatest heavyweights such as Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos. No one in the division deserves the title shot more than Ngannou. However, it is hard to expect a different outcome in the rematch after watching Miocic dominate Ngannou for five rounds.
Though Ngannou is a better fighter now it can not be denied that Stipe Miocic looks way better now. Throughout his trilogy with Daniel Cormier, Miocic has shown significant improvements in every single fight. But, Ngannou believes that with the changes in his training camp he will be able to beat Miocic in the rematch.
In a recent interview with Celebrity Gamerz, Francis Ngannou talked about what went wrong in the training camp for the first fight and how he has prepared for the rematch. Ngannou stated:
“It’s way more different. The first time wasn’t just the time. I wasn’t ready. When I look back at that time “what the f**k was this”. This is not how you get to fight for the title, to become a world champion. This is not how you get prepared. This is not how it is. Nothing was right in that. Then I get it in the short notice under six weeks away. I did not know what to do. I just moved to Vegas. Did not have my spot by the time. So 3 weeks before the fight I had to move back to Paris.”
Francis Ngannou is ready to showcase his best version at UFC 260
However, Ngannou has had a brilliant training camp so far. He has had enough time to prepare for this rematch as he last competed in UFC 249. Besides that, the addition of Kamaru Usman to his corner will certainly give him a much-needed morale boost. Talking about the training camp, Ngannou said:
“Now everything is set. I have a great team. Everybody taking care of the training. I have a good management team. I have everything. I think it’ll be a good fight. It’ll be a different fight than the first one.”
What do you think? Will Francis Ngannou be able to dethrone the best heavyweight in UFC history at UFC 260?
