Bo Nickal is one of the most hyped prospects in the UFC. The 27-year-old fighter is a three-time NCAA Division 1 national champion in wrestling. Furthermore, the American fighter is undefeated in MMA with a record of 5-0-0. Furthermore, he has finished all five of his fights in the first round.
Recently, the young UFC middleweight addressed a very interesting question about fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov. One of the fans asked him if he could beat the lightweight legend Khabib in a wrestling match, and he had a very honest response. “I wrestled my whole life…I’d go out and do the same thing to somebody who did this their whole life too so what’s gonna stop me from doing it to Khabib who’s never competed in wrestling,” said Nickal.

Furthermore, he said, “That’s like asking if I’m gonna stop a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty kick”. It looks like the young prodigy is very confident about his wrestling abilities, as he is comparing his caliber in wrestling to that of Ronaldo in soccer. According to Bo, just like Ronaldo cannot miss a penalty kick, he cannot be stopped in terms of wrestling.
While Khabib is a national sambo champion, he does not have any national accolades in the sport of wrestling. Furthermore, he believes that wrestling is his sport, and it is a fact that he can beat the lightweight GOAT in a wrestling match.
However, the chances of this dream match taking place are negligible as Nurmagomedov has already retired from the world of combat sports. Bo Nickal is also calling for a match against fellow undefeated middleweight, Khamzat Chimaev but Chimaev feels that he needs more experience before fighting against him.
UFC legend feels that Bo Nickal has the potential to become the best wrestler
Chael Sonnen is a huge supporter of Bo Nickal, as he comes from the same community. According to Sonnen, Nickal has the potential to end his career as an undefeated fighter. In an interview with The Schmo, Sonnen expressed his views on the hyped fighter. “If Bo Nickal gets defeated, it would be a blow and I’m speaking just from the wrestling community,” said the former UFC fighter.
Furthermore, Chael feels that if Bo can keep an undefeated record and do well against the elite of his division, then he definitely has the potential to become the best wrestler in the UFC. The young middleweight started his UFC journey with Dana White’s Contender Series, after which he went 2-0 in the company.
While Bo Nickal is one of the most skilled wrestlers on the UFC roster, he has yet to compete against high-level fighters in his weight division. The middleweight division is filled with good wrestlers like Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev who can give Nickal a run for his money. What are your thoughts on Bo Nickal?
