Joe Rogan is renowned for his work as a UFC commentator, TV personality, and comedian. However, his fame and relevance are largely supported by the success of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Started in 2009, the podcast has rapidly grown to be the No. 1 podcast in the world.
Initially launched on December 24, 2009, on YouTube by Rogan and comedian Brian Redban, the podcast has hit heights never seen before in this endeavor. Over its 14-year existence, the podcast has had 2314 episodes. Notably, this includes the regular JRE podcasts, JRE MMA Shows, Fight Companions, and more.

As such, it is no surprise that the podcast is wildly popular and has such a gargantuan following. During its entire running history, Rogan’s interaction with Elon Musk on #1169 is the most-viewed episode, with over 68 million views. On average, the podcast brings in more than 11 million listeners every time.
What different platforms can be used to listen to The Joe Rogan Experience?
For the most part, the best place to listen to the podcast would be on Spotify. Owing to a massive deal in 2020, the platform has curated playlists of the podcast and quietly removed a bunch of episodes as well. However, the experience is only enjoyable with Spotify Premium, which costs anywhere from $5.99 to $16.99 per month.
Whilst a free version is available, it comes with its own set of limitations and restrictions, making the experience rather bothersome. Thus, many have been on the lookout for an alternative that solves this problem whilst being free of charge. Thus, one such alternative would be to tune into the PowerfulJRE channel on YouTube.
Although it does not contain entire episodes, it has the juicy bits to give the audience an insight into the conversations. As such, the one true alternative would be the OG JRE website, which holds the complete episodes, shortened clips, and even the episodes removed from Spotify. Thus, it is the one-stop shop for all things JRE.
When does Joe Rogan’s Spotify deal end?
Owing to its massive success, Spotify made an offer to Rogan to move the podcast to its platform. With many misleading figures floated around, it was revealed that the deal was in excess of $200 million. According to reports, the deal signed in 2020 is meant to run for three and a half years.
Initially, many suggested that the deal would be up by late 2023. However, newer reports suggest that the deal will run up to early or mid-2024. At the same time, it has also brought Rogan’s net worth up to an estimated $245 million. As such, Joe is said to be bringing in more than $100,000 per episode, with three episodes weekly.
All things considered, this results in more than $14.4 million a year. With the current deal coming to an end, there will likely be talks between Joe and Spotify. Despite Spotify CEO Daniel Ek saying that they will not “overpay or overinvest” in future podcast deals, they will likely try to tie Rogan down to a new deal.
