How did Daniel Cormier’s daughter die?
Unfortunately, in June 2003, Daniel Cormier’s first daughter, Kaedyn Imri Cormier, passed away in a car accident. A driver not paying attention, crashed his car into the one that Kaedyn was in, instantly killing the three-month-old child. “I called the highway patrol, and they told me that there was an accident on the highway, and they told me that people were injured, but there was only one fatality, and it was her (Kaedyn)… Just some guy being irresponsible.”
According to Cormier, there were injuries on the scene, with Kaedyn being the only fatality. “I just remember her casket being so, so small. So small. I just remember her in the casket and just, not understanding why stuff like that keeps happening. Why does stuff like this keep happening?” Understandably, the incident was one of the most devastating events of Cormier’s life.
Notably, Kaedyn’s unfortunate demise nearly saw DC hang up his fighting gloves very early into his career. However, Cormier used this event to fuel and fully devote himself to his craft. Eventually, DC would go on to achieve great things in his career, dedicating the wins to his deceased daughter.
