UFC 293 is set to take place this weekend in Sydney, Australia, where the long-anticipated clash between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland will finally materialize after months of heated exchanges. The two will clash for the undisputed middleweight title in the main event of this exciting fight night.
Furthermore, the event is scheduled to unfold at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, marking the return of the world’s biggest MMA promotion to Australia. The co-main event of the night will have fan favorite Tai Tuivasa facing off against Alexander Volkov in a heavyweight clash. Apart from these, there are several other match-ups that are set to rock the octagon on September 9.

UFC 293, being a star-studded event and having a title fight in the main event of the night, will make sure that the promotion makes some good PPV money. Also on the card are popular Australian fighters like Tai Tuivasa and Tyson Pedro, who will attract their fans to join the action more closely at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.
UPDATE: The gate for the event was $10,752,296 and the event was attended by 18,168 Australian fans. While the fight of the night award went to Manel Kape vs Felipe dos Santos, the performance of the night bonuses went to Justin Tafa and Sean Strickland.

The last PPV event to happen down under in Australia was the lightweight title clash between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski. According to Money MMA, the number of fans in attendance was about 14,124, and the gate revenue was $4,086,688 USD.
However, the one before that, in 2019, between Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya, which took place in Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, attracted a massive audience of about 57,127. Of course, this one between Adesanya and Strickland will not be able to get that kind of live attendance, as the Qudos Bank Arena has a maximum capacity of about 21,000 people.
