There aren’t many UFC fighters who can boast of going full five rounds with Jon Jones and not get dominated by the consensus MMA GOAT. Dominick Reyes is one of them. Maybe the only fighter after Thiago Santos who can lay a stake to the claim that he defeated Jon Jones, and while the judges’ scorecards might tell a different story, fans are of a different belief.
Be that as it may, despite the greatness and the accolades on his name, Reyes feels disrespected heading into his UFC return at UFC 281. “Thing is it’s about proving sh*t, I have proven my sh*t. It’s about disrespect.” Reyes said after he was put on the preliminary card at UFC 281. And if I should bring this to your notice, Reyes is not even main-eventing the preliminary card.
Thing is it’s not about proving shit, I’ve proven my shit. it’s about disrespect

Needless to say, fans are mighty disappointed at UFC’s treatment of their former light-heavyweight title challenger. It’s understandable he has lost his last three fights, but all of them have come against three of the most accomplished fighters in the history of the division. Reyes’ last loss came against Jiri Prochazka, who currently reigns as the UFC’s Light-Heavyweight Champion.
Who is Dominick Reyes fighting at UFC 281?
Dominick Reyes will take on Ryan Spann in the co-main event of the preliminary card of UFC 281. Spann is currently ranked #12 in the UFC’s light-heavyweight rankings and is coming off a submission win over Ion Cutelaba.

It’s safe to say Reyes has a lot to lose in this fight than win. Spann is out of the top 10 in the division and with three back-to-back losses to your name, it’s not a good show for Reyes. His last win is against Chris Weidman, who is currently not even ranked.
UFC has really disrespected Dominick Reyes by putting him on prilims, he is the same guy who ALMOST beat THE GOAT Jon Jones 2 fights ago.
Yes, he got knocked out in his last 2 fights by current & former champ but that doesn’t mean he should be fighting on the prelims.#UFC281

side note: how crazy is it that dominick reyes is on the prelims for this fight? one of the closest guys to beat jon jones and now he’s on the prelims

Dominick Reyes on the prelims. Ok

Damn I feel sorry for Dominick Reyes. From basically beating up Jon Jones in a bout for the LH belt to prelims in short time. Damn the fight game is really unforgiving. #UFC281

Safe to say, while a win over Spann does nothing, losing against Spann would prove to be quite a bummer for the former light-heavyweight title challenger. Do you think Reyes gets his hands raised at UFC 281? Do let us know in the comments section.
