After Kamaru Usman called Colby Covington one of the top 15 welterweight fighters of all time, Josh Thompson shared his views regarding Usman’s comment. Former MMA fighter Josh also revealed the technique Colby should follow in order to beat Kamaru Usman.
Thompson in his YouTube channel shared his views on the Kamaru and Colby fight. Colby is going to face Usman for the second time after facing a jaw-breaking defeat in their first fight. According to Thompson, Usman beat Covington in their first fight when Kamaru didn’t even have a good stand-up fight. Which now he believes has developed into a new level.
Colby on the other hand has not fought since defeating Tryon Woodley. So, whether he has improved or not is still unrevealed. Thompson also believes that Kamaru Usman is currently unbeatable in the division:
“After he beat Masvidal, I don’t think he is beatable anymore. I think he is the guy that I think is going to be the champion in the UFC for a long time”

It is true that the title reign Usman is currently having in the welterweight division is going to be one of the greatest. Moreover, if he beats Covington for the second time there isn’t anyone left in the division who can actually challenge the Nigerian Nightmare.
Nevertheless, Josh believes that the only chance Colby can have against Kamaru is by wrestling him first. Then he can start boxing and repeat the drill to tire Usman down.
“He has to grind on him, work on him, get into those clinches, elbows, knees and get down on the legs.” Josh also adds that if Colby won’t be able to do it, then there isn’t any fighter left in the division to do it either. Which eventually will make Kamaru invincible.
Kamaru Usman to move up in the weight if he beats Colby Covington:
Kamaru hasn’t lost a single fight in the UFC since his debut. If he beats Colby Covington in their rematch, he would certainly move up in the division. Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz has previously mentioned Kamaru’s intentions of being the best pound-for-pound fighter on the roster.

Moreover, Usman recently beat Jon Jones in ranking to become the #1 pound-for-pound fighter. But, Kamaru would like to exhibit his skills in different weight classes. So, Abdelaziz believes Kamaru should and will move up in the divisions to cement the pound-for-pound #1 rank.
