Novak Djokovic is on the verge of a record-breaking 24th Grand Slam victory. The Serbian is stepping ahead of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer with every victory. A decade ago, it was a question whether there was anyone who could break Nadal and Federer’s records. Now the question is how far Djokovic can go.
Djokovic has been at the top of the rankings for a record 389 weeks and has finished the season in the top seven times. He is the only player in ATP history to have won every Masters 1000 title, and he has done it twice. The world number two has won a hat trick of Grand Slam titles four times in his career. He won four consecutive Grand Slams, from the 2015 Wimbledon to the 2016 French Open.

The former world number one has won the Australian Open 10 times and has never lost after reaching the semifinals. Djokovic has not lost to any player twice at the tournament so far. The season-opening event has been his favorite, and the supremacy since 2008 reflects it. He has played in every edition since 2005, with the exception of 2022, where he wasn’t allowed to compete due to the vaccine controversy.
Wins at every surface and Olympic medal
The 36-year-old has shown no mercy to the top 10 players with 246 victories, the latest victim being Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. With his 23rd Grand Slam victory at the French Open, he became the first male player to win all three Grand Slams three times.
The three-time French Open champion has also won the Davis Cup, the ATP Cup, and Serbia’s first Olympic medal. The four-time Olympian won the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics when he defeated James Blake in straight sets.
Upon reaching the final at the French Open, he reached his 34th major final, which is the most by any male player. Djokovic has played in all four Grand Slam finals a record seven times, which shows his versatility across all surfaces.
Djokovic is the only player to win the Australian Open three times consecutively in the Open era. He has achieved the feat twice. In the Nitto ATP finals, he won the title four consecutive times. In 2022, at 35 years old, he became the oldest champion at the year-end finals.

At Wimbledon, he will aim for his 24th major title. If all goes well this season, he can become the first male or female player to win 25 Grand Slams. Age doesn’t seem to slow down the champion, as the younger players will have to try harder next time.
