24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has accumulated a jaw-dropping fortune as a professional tennis player. His net worth is the highest, at $240 Million, out of the current top tennis players. This estimate puts him ahead of Spaniard Rafael Nadal, whose net worth is believed to be around $220 Million.
The Serbian, however, trails behind Swiss star Roger Federer by a huge margin, whose net worth of $550 Million makes him one of the richest stars to have ever played the game. Federer, however, retired from tennis last year and will not return to the court. This puts Djokovic right at the top of the list of players with the most wealth at this month’s Wimbledon Championship.
The player who comes next on the list would be Andy Murray, worth $100 Million. While his earnings may put him behind Djokovic, the Scottish star earns less than half the amount the Serbian does. Last year’s Wimbledon runners-up Nick Kyrgios has a net worth of $8 Million. This means, Djokovic earns more than Murray and Kyrgios combined.
Novak will be looking to defend his Wimbledon title and add a 25th Grand Slam title to his name. He has already won this year’s Australian Open and French Open. Murray will be trying to make a comeback since his hip surgery sidelined him. Nick Kyrgios has already pulled out of the tournament due to a wrist injury.
Novak Djokovic’s brand endorsements have added to his net worth
Djokovic being the richest player at present is a testament to his longevity. He has managed to avoid major injuries unlike his counterparts Murray and Nadal. Widely regarded as a ‘complete player’ by fans and pundits alike, the Serbian’s wealth comes on the back of his success. And successful he has been for a long time now.
In addition to prize money from tournaments, Novak has several brand endorsement deals. His earliest sponsor was Adidas before they dropped him in 2009. In 2012, he agreed to a 5-year deal with Uniqlo, which led him to earn 8 Million Euros ($8,714,320 approx) a year.
When his deal with them ended, he signed on with Lacoste. His deal with Lacoste in 2017 is one of his most significant endorsements. It is one of mutual benefit, one where Djokovic displays his brilliance on the court, and, in return, the brand benefits from it just by being associated with him.
In 2020, he became the global brand ambassador for Asics. Novak has exposed the sports company to a wider audience. In addition to these, Djokovic was the ambassador of the classic watch brand Seiko. He ended their deal in January 2021 before signing on with another big name in the watchmaking industry, Hublot.

His racquet sponsor is Head. Head’s sponsorship with Djokovic goes as far back as 2001. Their current deal fetches him approximately $7.5 Million. In addition to these, he has also partnered with Mercedes-Benz and the French motor company Peugeot.

Novak reportedly earned $24 million from tournaments and endorsements between 2017-2018. That amount doubled the following year with Djokovic earning $50 Million. Between June 2019 and 2020, he earned $45 Million. His on-court earnings topped $170 million. If Novak can defend his Wimbledon title, the prize money will only add to his already huge net worth.
