Karolina Muchova and her ongoing injury struggles
The Czech tennis player really thrived on the tour this year. In just over 18 months, Karolina went from being ranked No. 235 in the world to breaking into the top 10 courtesy of her remarkable run at the French Open. Muchova even made it to the finals of the Cincinnati Open last season. However, a wrist injury at the US Open semifinal has derailed her career a bit ever since.
Karolina has not played any matches since the last Grand Slam. Her wonderful run of form saw her book a spot in the WTA Finals in Cancun. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw as her wrist issue persisted, and Maria Sakkari replaced her.
