Novak Djokovic has been using different techniques of stroke-making on the court over the past few years. His serve and volleys have improved over the past few years. It depends on the types of courts or strategies and his rackets. Djokovic has been using Head rackets since 2009 and has kept them the same. He has slightly changed the racket size and strings over the years.
During the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin last week, one of the stringers revealed Djokovic’s racket specifications. Marco Rossani has actively been involved in the sport for the past four decades Rossani said, “Djokovic’s racket is particularly personalized. There’s a lot of lead applied, it’s definitely one of the strangest ones you’ll see on players.” Now, the Serbian has a private foreign stringer service.

Rossani also spoke about the racket of Jannik Sinner. He mentioned that Sinner liked his racket lightweight. The racket he used at the Nitto ATP Finals was 320 grams with the strings. Each player has their own choices and reasons for getting a racket. There are few changes made to racket specifications, as a player takes time to adjust to the conditions and feel of the racket.
What racket does Novak Djokovic use?
In the initial phases of his career, Djokovic had a Wilson racket. Until 2008, he used the Wilson Blade Pro and, a year later, switched to Head. He again changed his racket in 2018 due to an elbow injury. The 36-year-old currently uses a Speed Pro BLK 2023 Tour racket. He reportedly had an 18×20 string pattern and now maintains an 18×19 pattern, which is suitable for his nature of play.
The 24-time grand slam champion goes for the Babolat Natural Gut Mains at 59 pounds and the Luxilon ALU Power Crosses at 56 pounds for the strings. After the elbow injury, Djokovic’s racket weight was reduced from 370 grams to 353 grams. It helped him safeguard his elbow, drastically improving his game on the tour. The racket length extends up to 27.1 inches, which is allowed under the permissible limit.

There has been a noticeable change in Djokovic’s groundstrokes and serve. It has been becoming faster due to the lighter racket and bigger frame. The Serbian has not made many changes to his rackets since 2018 and has been content with the present conditions. Djokovic is currently practicing in Malaga, Spain, for the Davis Cup as Serbia is hoping for him to win crucial points in singles and doubles.
