The tennis legend has been making a lot of appearances of late. Serena made history just last week when she became the first athlete to win the prestigious CFDA Award. Continuing in that vein, Serena, along with Ruby Bridges, will be honored during Women’s History Month in March next year.
During her long career, Serena broke a lot of barriers. She paved the way for the new generation of players. Moreover, Serena is now a very successful entrepreneur and has furthered her portfolio within a short span of time.

She was announced along with Ruby Bridges, who at the age of 6 was known as one of the first black students to attend a racially segregated school.

Bridges, now 69 years old, was the first black student at a racially segregated school in New Orleans. She was only 6 years old when she inked her name in the annals of history.
“The 2024 inductee class has broken barriers, challenged the status quo, and left an impact on history. Their dedication, drive, and talent got them here, and we’re thrilled to honor them on the national stage,” read the statement (via NBC News).

Serena and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary recently. The two tied the knot on November 16, 2017, in New Orleans.
