The ATP tour has been eagerly waiting for the return of Rafael Nadal. He has been actively training on the courts and will start his season at Brisbane in January. Fans know his love for tennis and watches, but there is more in the Spaniard’s heart. Nadal had famously appeared in a music video with Shakira and had a crush on Britney Spears in childhood.
The former world No.1 spoke about his childhood crush during the 2020 Australian Open. In an interview with Today Show, Nadal revealed that he was in love with Britney Spears during this first disco.
Nadal said, “When I was a small kid, I remember Britney Spears, the first-first disco, I don’t know. I remember yeah, I was in love with Britney Spears.” Spears is five years older than Nadal and achieved fame during the late 90’s.

Nadal is known to listen to all types of songs. He carries his AirPods with him while traveling. He listens to music before his matches. Just like Nadal, Novak Djokovic is also a fan of music.
Djokovic is known to listen to classical music. Although both players don’t share common habits on the court, they have been fans of Britney Spear’s music which is still relevant in today’s time.
Novak Djokovic got in trouble for Britney Spears imitation
Djokovic has mastered the courts in Australia and is also an impersonation expert. He has imitated several celebrities on the court. He had even portrayed Britney Spears during a players’ function last year during the Italian Open. Djokovic had beaten Stan Wawrinka in the fourth round and was getting ready for his performance as the American pop star.
Novak said, “I had denim shorts and a wig, my mother was so shocked. After that I had to stop for a while. Maybe I don’t have to do extreme things, but maybe I’ll go back to doing imitations.”
Since then, Djokovic has not done extreme imitations and has become more serious in front of the camera. After seeing his mother’s reaction in Monte Carlo, he even stopped doing imitations for a while. Djokovic has reduced his imitations on the tour in the last 12 months.
#Djokovic: “Nobody told me to stop doing imitations, but I saw how people looked my on last period. Anyway about Montecarlo Player Show I remember one year myself playing Britney Spears wearing a wig and denim shorts. My mother was shocked and from then on I stopped”.#IBI22 pic.twitter.com/KaFHWgT7TT

Fans will need Djokovic to entertain them off the courts as well. However, he has a strong reason not to. His loyal fanbase will be happy with his normal imitations rather than disturbing ones.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion will aim for several records next season. He had one of the best seasons of his career this year and has not stopped his habit of breaking records in the sport.
