Iga Swiatek is so far having an amazing time at the US Open. She has only spent two and a half hours on court in her first two matches. Swiatek might look to experience success in the doubles category, as she did in her initial days. She is now in the third round of the event and talked about playing mixed doubles in the future.
Swiatek was almost expecting a question on mixed doubles, as the crowd could not wait to hear the answer. Andy Murray had expressed his wish to play with her a few days ago. Swiatek had also given a response to Murray on platform X. She responded to him with a shocked emoji and a stunned GIF expression.

Swiatek said, “I love that he said that. It’s a dream come true.” She also said that she definitely talk to him about it. The world No.1 went on to say that for now, she will be focusing on singles as it is a hectic tour.
Iga Swiatek on Murray saying he’d like to play doubles with her:
“I love that he said that. It’s a dream come true. I watched Andy when I was younger. He always had such a good game & is such a cool person as well. Really humble & down to earth.”

Swiatek has not played many doubles matches in the past two years. She last played a doubles match in 2021 with Bethanie Mattek Sands. The pair had also reached the finals at the French Open the same year.
Meanwhile, Andy Murray last played a doubles match a few weeks ago with Daniel Evans in Washington. There are many possibilities for new mixed doubles partners coming up on tour.
Tennis pros select their favorite doubles partner for the US Open
The US Open recently posted a video on X where players spoke about their possible doubles partners. Chris Eubanks said that he wishes to play with Taylor Townsend, as he has never played with her before. Maria Sakkari expressed her wish to play with Rafael Nadal as both players are known for their power-packed ground strokes. Andy Murray was clear in his choice of Iga Swiatek.
Coco Gauff said that she had three players in mind, Eubanks, Frances Tiafoe, and Ben Shelton. Victoria Azarenka spoke about the home advantage at the US Open, so she would go for Tiafoe. Jessica Pegula too said that Tiafoe had recently asked her about playing mixed doubles together. Elina Svitolina did not need to think a bit as she responded with a smile that it would be Gael Monfils.

Last year, Aryna Sabalenka said that she wanted to play doubles with Novak Djokovic. Both players are known to be friends on tour, but with the increasing number of events on tour, it becomes difficult.
The current generation has mostly been focusing on one category, especially on the ATP tour. Next season, the players can maybe form interesting pairs to make the tour more special.
