Novak Djokovic has not been resting even after winning the Nitto ATP Finals. He spent over 11 hours on the court in Turin and is not waiting for recovery. Djokovic has already reached Spain for the Davis Cup knockouts. He is expected to lead Serbia to glory. Djokovic will not play any matches after the Davis Cup and will finally get ready for next season.
The world No. 1 reached Malaga and was greeted by his friend and former rival, Feliciano Lopez. The Spaniard welcomed Djokovic with a hug and said, “Forever young,” referring to his extreme work ethic. Lopez was present at Malaga as he was appointed tournament director for this year’s Davis Cup. The former player will attend the event as the quarterfinals begin soon.
Novak Djokovic arrives in Malaga less than 24 hours after winning a record-breaking 7th ATP Finals title.

Djokovic has only played two Davis Cup matches this year. He played singles in the tie against Spain and doubles against the Czech Republic. Djokovic has chances to play doubles this time, as he did the same at the Paris Masters. The 36-year-old partnered with Miomir Kecmanovic in Paris, which was part of the preparation for the Davis Cup.
Novak Djokovic uses his “aura” on youngsters
Djokovic became the oldest player to win the singles title at the Nitto ATP Finals. At 36, he won a record seventh title at Turin. His rivals were a decade and a half younger than him. Djokovic’s mental strength and physical fitness make him unbeatable on the tour. His presence on the court has troubled the youngsters, as they cannot find a breakthrough.
The Serbian has spoken about holding his dominance over the younger generation. He wants the opponents to think that defeating him will be their best. Djokovic said, “I think the more I win on the biggest stage, the more this kind of aura grows, and I’m glad for it, no doubt.” He further said that his career will continue as long as the titles keep coming. Djokovic, as of now, has won 98 titles.
Novak Djokovic says he wants his opponents to feel the pressure of his aura:
“I want them to feel that kind of pressure. When they play me, I want them to feel that it’s going to require the best tennis from them in order to win against me. That’s what I want my opponents to… pic.twitter.com/qgfAcQAASx

The 24-time grand slam champion has had one of his most successful seasons recently. He won 55 matches this year while losing on six occasions. Since June, Djokovic has played 37 matches and has only lost two of them. He has set the targets for the 2024 season, as there are a few more records to break on the tour. He will develop the strategy at the Davis Cup for now.
