Sergio Ramos has been nothing short of a legendary player for Spanish club Real Madrid over the years. The 37-year-old made a prolific sum of 671 appearances for the La Liga club. The veteran player then moved on to France to play for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
For PSG, the Spanish defender Sergio Ramos played 58 matches in his career. However, the player in the previous summer transfer window chose to return to his boyhood club, Sevilla, in Spain. He has mostly played as a center-back in his career till now. However, the Spain-born player is also capable of playing as a right-back.
As per a recent report, the Sevilla defender was spotted signing some jerseys for his fans while sitting in his car. However, the report stated that the 37-year-old refused to sign a Real Madrid jersey when one of the fans tried to take his autograph on it.

However, as per the readers’ context added by the social platform, it is stated that the reported video was contextualized. There was another reason behind the player not preferring to sign that particular Real Madrid jersey when approached by the fan.
The readers’ context revealed that Sergio Ramos reportedly signed different jerseys belonging to the Los Blancos on the same day. However, he might have turned down signing another one of them because fans sometimes request players to sign multiple jerseys for the purpose of reselling them. It is regarded as the probable reason for his refusal to sign that jersey.
Sergio Ramos on why he chose Sevilla FC over any other big-money move
As per the earlier reports, the Spain player was of the opinion that he had the chance to continue playing in France with PSG, but he chose not to. The 37-year-old was then further associated with several transfer rumors linking him to clubs in the MLS and the Saudi Pro League.
However, Ramos chose his boyhood club, Sevilla FC, to continue his club career. As per a report by Mirror on his choice, the veteran reflected, “I have always been moved by impulses and heart. Not by money”. The player further stated, “That’s why I didn’t go to Arabia (Saudi Arabia) or the MLS”. The player also termed his return to Sevilla as a dream” for him.
The center-back joined Sevilla for his second stint at the club in September 2023. Since then, he has played four La Liga matches for the club. The player also had three Champions League outings for the La Liga team in the 2023-2024 season so far. His current contract at the club comes to an end in June 2024.
