The saga between Shakira, former FC Barcelona player Gerard Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti has been going on for months now after Pique cheated on Shakira with 23-year-old Clara and both were seen taking shots at each other in public over the past couple of months.
Shakira has recently come out and talked about her life in an interview for the first time after the incident as she gave an interview on the Mexican program ‘Las Estrellas. The singer didn’t mention either Pique or Clara directly but there were certain statements that might have been indicated toward the duo.
She indicated her rough time after the breakup with Pique and stated that sometimes in life you have to tolerate the frustration when things aren’t going your way. She also talked about how her two children needed her and she had to be strong for them.

She said: “You have to tolerate frustration, there are things that don’t go your way. I depend on myself, I have two children and I have to be a lioness for them”
Shakira also talked about the bitter saga that continued after her separation from Pique and stated that she is in the public eye, as is Pique so their separation wasn’t going to be an ordinary one as the media is always involved.
She said: “I am in the public eye, and because of that our separation is not like a normal separation.”
“My lyrics are more effective than a visit to a psychologist. The opposite of depression is expression.”
Shakira also referred to her songs and said that the lyrics she wrote were not just words but therapy. She also added that her expressing emotions in songs is a way to fight depression as expressions are the opposite of depression.
Shakira explains why she insulted Gerard Pique and Clara Chia Marti in her song
Shakira released a song with Argentine rapper Bizarrap last month in which she took shots at Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti. She talked about this song and stated that this song felt like a healing process to her as she expressed all her emotions in this song and it felt like a vent.
She said: “Someone should have taken a picture of how I started and how I finished the session with Bizarrap. It was an outlet for my healing process”
Shakira also talked about her current mental state and announced that she had been in love and now that she has come out of it, she has understood a lot in life and she feels complete today. She also added that she has come out stronger from all of it.
“I have been in love with love and I have managed to understand it from another perspective and feel that I am enough for myself today. When a woman faces life she comes out stronger.”
Shakira has come out in this interview to clear the air around her current state of mind and it looks like the singer is focused on her work and has put the drama with Gerard Pique and Clara Chia Marti in the past.
