Since Kylian Mbappe burst onto the scene back in 2016, he has had his eyes set on Real Madrid. His idol, the great Cristiano Ronaldo, was the star of Real Madrid, and Mbappe has set his sights on recreating his legacy at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Saudi Pro League has set its ambitions straight since signing Cristiano Ronaldo to their league in January 2023. After hiring mega-stars in bulk across the summer of 2023, the Saudi Pro League is looking to make its statement by hiring Kylian Mbappe. The ambitions were confirmed by the director of the Saudi Pro League, Michael Emenalo.
Michael Emenalo said this about the chances of Mbappe signing with any Saudi club, “With Mbappe the conversation is open, but we don’t know what he wants to do. Our position is very clear: all of this level of player knows where we are”.
He further added, “If there is any possibility or interest for Mbappe to be part of what we are building, now or in the future, we cannot refuse that possibility. He is a player I love”.
The offer presented by the Saudi club, Al-Ittihad during the summer was around 200 million net per season. The ambitions to link him up with counterparts like Karim Benzema and N’golo Kante, Al-Ittihad believes the two already present will make them more attractive to Kylian Mbappe.
Why hasn’t Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid yet?
Kylian Mbappe’s transfer saga has been like a TV serial filled with dramatic twists and constant tensions. This round-up of negotiations has captivated fans for years. His childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid seemed on the verge of fulfillment, only to remain frustratingly unfulfilled.
Year after year, the fans get to see that Kylian Mbappe is about to join Real Madrid in the summer, but the completion of the transfer is never fulfilled. With Mbappe being the pinnacle of soccer for this generation of players, Qatar-backed PSG doesn’t want to lose him at any cost.
They’ve repeatedly rebuffed Florentino Perez’s, the Real Madrid president’s, advances, offering Mbappe lucrative contracts that aim to make him the highest-paid player in the world. Financial muscle plays a significant role, and PSG’s ability to match, if not exceed, any offer from Madrid leaves Mbappe with a tempting financial cushion in Paris.
Mbappe is the undisputed star, the talisman for PSG, around whom the team revolves. Leaving that behind for the competitive environment of Real Madrid, where he’d share the spotlight with other superstars, might require a leap of faith to acquire Mbappe.
In the end, the decision rests with Mbappe alone. Despite public transfer rumors, only he knows what truly burns in his heart. Does he prioritize his childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid over the comfort and security of Paris?
