An Ireland supporter took aim at France by holding up Lionel Messi’s Argentina jersey at the stadium. This was during their 2-0 defeat against the 2018 WorldCup winners.
France and Ireland faced each other in the 2024 Euros qualification match yesterday at Parc des Princes. An Irish supporter was seen mocking the French fans by holding up Messi’s Argentina shirt following his nation’s loss against the men in blues.
Fans have been pretty amused with this mocking. Many even took to social media to support the fan’s actions. One fan wrote, “He knows football.” Another fan said, “Messi is everywhere.” And a third fan came up to support the fan as well, and said, “Messi is the owner of France that’s why.”

This loss has turned Ireland’s next encounter against the Netherlands on Sunday into a must-win for the Irish to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2024 Euros alive. They are set to lock horns on September 10, 2023.
Ireland faced a drastic 2-0 defeat against France in their latest 2024 Euro Qualifier match
Ireland faced another setback in their mission to qualify for the upcoming Euro 2024 as they were beaten 2-0 by former World Champions France. With this defeat, the Irish national team has moved down to fourth place in the group, with only Gibraltar behind them, who have yet to register a single point.
As mentioned earlier, the match took place in Parc-des-Princes yesterday. France was already in first place in their group with a clear record and 12 points. Ireland, on the other hand, hoped to take this match their way by adding three more points to their already-won three points from three prior matches.
Things, however, didn’t go as planned for the Irishmen. Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni scored the first goal for France in the 19th minute of the game, thanks to the assist of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe. The first half ended with a 1-0 lead for the French team.

The second half had an even more fiery start as Inter Milan’s new signing Marcus Thuram scored in the 48th minute of the game to put his nation 2-0 up against the opponent. Although the Irish team tried to make a comeback, none of their tricks worked, and the scoreline stuck in France’s favor until the final whistle blew.
