Manchester United has taken action against Brazilian winger Antony as assault accusations surfaced against the attacker. He has already been dropped by the Brazilian national team for these accusations. And now his club has also cleared their stance with the new statement mentioning his absence.
In a recent statement released by the club, it has been revealed that the player has mutually agreed to take a leave of absence “until further notice.” Although the player is set to be paid in full, this is due to Gabriela Cavallin’s assault accusations against him.
Manchester United‘s statement read, “Players who have not participated in international matches are due back in training on Monday. However, it has been agreed with Antony that he will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegations. As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognize the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation. And acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse.”

Antony has also shared a statement on social media regarding this matter. In it, he said, “I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me. This was a mutual decision to avoid distraction to my teammates and unnecessary controversy for the club.”
He ended his statement by saying, “I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth. I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.”
Cavallin has filed complaints both in Brazil and in England. The Greater Manchester Police are currently conducting an investigation to find out the truth. Meanwhile, two more women, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have also made similar accusations of abuse against the former Ajax star.

With the heat of the matter rising, it is to be seen where this case leads to next. Will Antony be found innocent in the end? Or will he be found guilty after all? Only time can tell.
Manchester United star Antony denies assault allegations, says he 100% didn’t touch Gabriela Cavallin
Brazil star Antony has publicly denied any assault allegations that were made by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin. The soccer star is accused of assaulting the DJ and influencer on multiple occasions.
In a recent interview, the Manchester United attacker flunked off all the allegations and claimed that they were fake. He said, “Out of respect for my fans, friends and family I feel obligated to speak publicly about the false accusations I have been a victim of. From the beginning I have handled this issue seriously and with respect, providing the due clarifications to the police authority. The police inquest is under cover of justice, and therefore I cannot make its content public.”
Antony then continued, “However, I can say with confidence that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and more to be produced show that I am innocent of the accusations made. My relationship with Ms Gabriela was tumultuous, with verbal offenses from both sides, but I never practiced any physical aggression. Every time, whether in testimony or in interview, she presents a different version of the accusations.”
Gabriela Cavallin on Manchester United’s official statement: 🗣
“Why did it take United three months? It’s simply not normal. I prefer not to believe that such a huge club, with such serious and professional people, could cover up such a situation.

At the end of the statement, the player said, “Thus, I come to deny the accusations made and inform that I remain at the full disposal of the Brazilian authorities to clarify what is needed. I trust the ongoing police investigation will reveal the truth about my innocence.”
The former Ajax star has already been dropped by Brazil following the incident, and he has also been sentenced to take a break from Manchester United’s side until further notice. As mentioned above, an investigation is currently being done by the Greater Manchester Police.
