Argentine great Lionel Messi has reportedly opened up about his new superhero celebrations after each of his goals on his new home ground for Inter Miami. Messi joined the club in a shock move this summer after he declared that he would leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this season.
In a recent interview, Messi talked about the real reason behind his new goal celebrations. The World Cup winner has stated that his new superhero-inspired celebrations are for his kids, who are fans of these heroes.
He said, “My three kids are still on vacation and haven’t started school yet, so we watch superhero movies every night. They came up with the idea and told me that whenever I have a game and score a goal, I do a superhero celebration. But I only do them for home games, when the kids are here, near me, so we can share those moments”.

Which superhero celebrations has Lionel Messi imitated in MLS?
Former FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi is reportedly seen imitating superhero celebrations after scoring goals in home games for his new club Inter Miami. Over the last few games, the player has already mimicked three different superheroes.
It all started in Inter Miami’s game against Atlanta United. Messi scored a goal in the game and celebrated it by imitating Thor’s iconic action of calling his hammer Mjolnir. Although some also believed it was more of a “Hold My Beer, “ celebration that Messi made towards England Legend David Beckham who was in the stands.
In the next match against Orlando City, the Argentine genius was again on the score sheet, and this time he celebrated his goal with another super-hero celebration as he imitated Marvel’s Black Panther’s famous “Wakanda Forever” salute.
