Both Busquets and Alba had announced their decision to leave FC Barcelona previously. The two stars have spent over a decade at the club winning multiple titles together. Busquets and Alba were also part of the Spanish team which won the Euro 2012. It has been announced that Busquets’ farewell will be held on Wednesday this week. Meanwhile, Jordi Alba will have his farewell ceremony a day later.

While Lionel Messi is on good terms with both of his former club teammates, his commitment to PSG will deny him from attending their farewell. Messi will feature in PSG’s final game of the season against Clermont at the Parc des Princes later this weekend. With Messi getting suspended recently for taking an unauthorized leave, he wouldn’t like to miss any more training sessions.

According to El Chiringuito, Messi, Busquets, and Alba have all accepted an offer from Al-Hilal. However, neither of the players are yet to confirm the rumors. A few days ago, Messi’s father and agent Jorge Messi issued a statement denying any agreement with Al-Hilal. Meanwhile, Messi’s former club FC Barcelona is also trying to work out a plan to bring back the 2022 World Cup hero.

As per the reports, Barcelona has already submitted its economic feasibility plan to La Liga and is waiting for approval. Barcelona has to offload a huge chunk of their wage bill as well as raise enough money to sign Messi. The exit of Busquets and Alba will help the club in its attempt to bring back Messi. However, Barcelona also has to renew the contract of its current players and register them in the first team.
