Fullbacks are one of the most important positions in today’s game. These defensive positions have become instrumental in the attacking transition and goal contribution of the biggest sides in Europe. Kylian Mbappe, one of the most lethal attackers in the game right now, has revealed his choice for the best right back in the world.
Mbappe has named his teammate, Achraf Hakimi, as the best right back in the world. The French forward uploaded an Instagram story declaring the Moroccan full-back the best in his position.
PSG ran riot over the weekend with a 4-0 victory over Olympique Marseille in Le Classique. Hakimi opened the scoring with a wonderful free kick in the 8th minute. The official account of PSG uploaded an Instagram reel with a pitch-side view of the free kick to shower praise on their right back.

Mbappe went a step further, first commenting on the video with a fire emoji and then resharing the video on his Instagram story stating, “Best RB in the world, You know…” followed by a crown emoji. The goal laid the foundation for a comfortable victory to send PSG third in the Ligue 1 table, two points behind league leaders Brest.
Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi are close friends of the fields, and their recent display of admiration is another evidence of their bromance. The ties are so strong that Hakimi has been speculated to join Real Madrid with Kylian Mbappe to replace Dani Carvajal in the squad.
Hakimi is a Moroccan player who started his career in the youth system of Real Madrid in 2016. It would not come as a surprise if Hakimi forced a move back to Real Madrid, especially if Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid next summer. However, Hakimi’s current deal expires in 2026, which complicates the matter.
Achraf Hakimi’s stats for PSG
Hakimi has been off to a brilliant start this season, with three goals and one assist in seven matches in all competitions for PSG. The attacking full-back looks to surpass his last season’s tally of five goals and six assists in 39 matches before the end of this year.

Hakimi joined PSG back in 2021 for $74 million from Inter Milan, but he has yet to replicate his form in the 2020–21 season. However, this season, he is showing glimpses of his potential under the new manager, Luis Enrique.
Hakimi’s form this season puts him back in the conversation for being the best right back in the world. Napoli’s Di Lorenzo with four-goal contributions in six matches, Newcastle’s Kieran Tripper with three assists in seven matches, and FC Barcelona’s João Cancelo with three-goal contributions in four matches are other players that can be involved in this conversation.
