The 24-year-old had made his feelings public about playing for Barca, much to the dismay of his parent club. Felix was not impressed by the playing style of Atleti and was looking for more attacking football.
As for Barca, they were in dire need of a left winger with creative flare. And given their long-ongoing struggles with finance, the club could only afford to loan out a player. So, Joao Felix and FC Barcelona seemed like a match made in heaven.
Joao Felix talks about his recent struggles on the pitch
The recent performances of Joao Felix and FC Barcelona have been far from satisfying. Joao has just one goal in his last 13 appearances for the club. Overall, he has an appalling G/A of 7 in 16 games for Barca. His poor performances haven’t helped Barca who are sitting on a lowly 4th on the La Liga table.

Felix provided his insights on FC Barcelona and his on-field struggles. He said that he would be more than willing to help the club and create history with it. It is true, that the club isn’t in very good form, but it is important that everybody in the club stays positive, in tough situations.
Felix has been inspired by his ex-coach Diego Simeone’s principle of Partido a Partido (game by game), as he urges his club to not lose their cool over disappointing results and fulfill their future objectives, the first of which is achieving qualification to the Round of 16 in the Champions League.

The two players on loan at the club, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix scored the two goals to hand Barca the victory. This was Felix’s first goal in over a month and can be a turning point for him this season. Barca would need his creativity to flourish if the club wants to progress well in La Liga as well as in Europe’s most elite club competition.
