Manchester City recently won the final trophy that eluded their trophy cabinet, the Champions League. The English champions had been trying and failing to win the competition but succeeded at long last. But it already looks like the team is over their celebrations and is already looking into the next season by trying to sign Achraf Hakimi.
Hakimi recently found himself in a huge controversy after being accused of r*pe. The Moroccan player denied all the allegations, but an investigation was opened against him by the police. Even his team PSG didn’t ban him as Man United did with Mason Greenwood and Hakimi continues to play.
The fullback was in great form last season as he reached the World Cup semi-finals with Morocco. The 24-year-old has shone brightly in the defense for PSG alongside superstars Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.

The player was also in the news of a divorce from his partner, Hiba Abouk. Hakimi tricked the Spanish actress as she filed for compensation from his property during the divorce proceedings. But the player had kept every property in his mother’s name and thus Hiba could get nothing from him.
It would be interesting to see how Pep Guardiola slots him in the defense of City manages to sign him. With Kyle Walker already being in the team, it would be surprising if Pep chooses to ouster him for Hakimi.
Achraf Hakimi open to Real Madrid return
Hakimi moved to PSG for a record transfer fee of around $70 million in 2021. But the player seems to be moving out this season as he is linked to numerous clubs. One of these clubs is Hakimi’s boyhood club, Real Madrid.
The fullback’s agent recently spoke about the chances of a move to the Spanish capital. He revealed that if Madrid would be interested in signing him, the player would be open to the move.

He said: “Achraf has been away from Real Madrid for five years, but it is always his home, somewhere in his heart the club is there. If Real Madrid want to sign him, we will listen.”
With Dani Carvajal already in his 30s, Real Madrid wouldn’t mind signing an attacking fullback of Hakimi’s class. The player is considered among the best fullbacks attacking-wise in the world due to his speed and crossing skills.
It would be interesting to see whether PSG allows Hakimi to leave after interest from various clubs. The French club has already lost Messi and might even lose Kylian Mbappe in attack. With the current situation at the Ligue 1 champions’, Hakimi might not be allowed to leave the club.
