Cristiano Ronaldo and Binance are back in the spotlight again with a new marketing campaign. This time around, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world has called up the famous internet personality, Khaby Lame, for a collaboration with the Portuguese superstar.
Binance shared a picture in their latest tweet in which Ronaldo and Lame were seen together on a soccer pitch striking the famous pose of the Italian TikToker. Lame can be seen wearing soccer gloves, which suggests the duo might feature in an upcoming advert where we can see them playing soccer.
Back in 2020, Khaby Lame started posting on TikTok during the pandemic by oversimplifying internet hacks before striking his iconic pose. By the summer of 2022, Lame became the most followed personality on the platform, surpassing Charli D’Amelio. He is currently leading the platform with 161 million followers.

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo has never posted on TikTok. The Portuguese megastar has kept his digital presence limited to X and Instagram. On Instagram, he is the most followed person with 617 million followers. This upcoming collaboration represents a huge moment for Binance who can bring the most followed man on Instagram with the most followed person on TikTok.
Cristiano Ronaldo is being sued for $1 billion in a class action lawsuit in the USA over Binance
This latest collaboration for Binance comes amidst the controversy where the Portuguese superstar is being sued for a class action lawsuit in the USA. The plaintiffs have claimed that Ronaldo’s ads influenced them into a loss-making investment. They are seeking damages that are reported around $1 billion.
Binance and Ronaldo started their partnership back in 2022 when the Cryptocurrency stock exchange launched its first ‘CR7 NFTs’. The cheapest NFTs in the collection were launched at $77 but in 2023, their value dropped to a shocking low of $1.

Binance is registered in the tax haven of the Cayman Islands, which also raised some eyebrows for money laundering. The reputation of the company was further hit when Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, was forced to resign due to his guilty plea to charges of money laundering.
This latest collaboration might be the last ditch effort by Binance to steer their brand away from controversy and shine some positive spotlight on the name of the brand.
Khaby Lame’s last collaboration was a flop
For Khaby Lame, Binance will be the first brand collaboration of the famous social media personality in 2024. Lame has 80 million followers on Instagram, where he often collabs with famous athletes and celebrities around the world. The influencer’s last collaboration came back in 2023 when he linked with musician Jon Batiste for the Samsung Galaxy mobiles.

The collaboration didn’t do well on Instagram, as it only drew in seven million views, which is far below the average of Lame. The Italian influencer usually garners around 30 million views on his reels, which is what Binance will be hoping for with this upcoming collaboration.
