SUMMARY
- Recently, Wayne Rooney talked about Marcus Rashford.
- Rooney said that Manchester United have given Rashford all the necessary help to make a great career.
Marcus Rashford was once considered to be the poster boy of Manchester United. The Englishman had been assigned the duty of leading the attacking line of the ‘Red Devils’ in the post-Fergie era. However, the 26-year-old’s lack of professionalism has annoyed the club’s fanbase, who have turned their backs on him. Many people around Old Trafford even want the academy graduate to be gone from Manchester United.
Rashford wasn’t helped when club legend Wayne Rooney also criticized the player. Wayne has had enough of the Englishman and has declined to offer any career advice to the 26-year-old.

Wayne Rooney was implying the fact that Manchester United has given Marcus Rashford all the necessary help to make a great career. However, the youngster hasn’t been able to make good use of all the privileges and has lost his focus.
When Marcus Rashford made his debut against Arsenal in 2016, a lot of Manchester United fans had hoped for Rashford to break Wayne Rooney’s record of being the club’s all-time top scorer. However, Marcus’ 135 goals are still way far from Rooney’s record of 253 goals. And looking at Rashford’s off-the-pitch activities of late, it seems that the 38-year-old’s record will be intact for some time.
Marcus Rashford lied about being sick to go party
The Englishman’s antics angered Manchester United fans in January 2024. The 26-year-old had partied for two days in a row and thus missed training. However, the matter turned for the worse when it was revealed that the 26-year-old had not informed the club prior. Instead, he called in sick to avoid going to a training session.
Marcus Rashford had reportedly informed the club hierarchy that he would be out partying in Belfast on January 24, 2024. However, the Englishman was spotted partying even the next day, hours before a training session for the FA Cup against Newport County. Marcus Rashford hence called in sick to avoid taking to the training pitch.

The club eventually found out about Rashford’s mischief and fined him £650,000 ($826,237). His coach, Erik ten Hag, too, looked very upset at the lack of professionalism from the 26-year-old’s side. The Dutch tactician had this to offer: “I spoke with him about it. It’s unacceptable. He apologized, and that is it.”
Marcus Rashford has clearly tarnished his legacy at the English club with his recent scandals. It seems that a way out from the club might be very imminent, with French club Paris Saint-Germain being a preferred location.
