He further added, “I remember my brother saying, ‘Go take a picture with Wazza, bro! What are you doing???’ I said, ‘I don’t need a picture.’ He said, ‘Don’t need a picture???’ I said, ‘I’m going to be playing alongside them some day’.”
When Rashford was seven years old in 2005, he enrolled in United’s academy. Eventually, he made his Europa League debut with two goals in a 5-1 victory over FC Midtjylland of Denmark. The forward was a member of Manchester United’s and England’s national teams’ playing lineup alongside Rooney. Additionally, he had the opportunity to play with Ronaldo during his second stint with the Manchester United team.
Wayne Rooney shares his views on the out-of-form Marcus Rashford
Marcus Rashford of Manchester United has been urged to do more by Wayne Rooney after his subpar performance in the FA Cup against Nottingham Forest. In Rasmus Hojlund’s absence, Rashford, 26, was used as a No. 9 in the fifth-round match, which United won thanks to a last-minute goal from Casemiro.
🚨 Wayne Rooney on Rashford: “We don’t create many chances for him. He needs to be a little more patient and stay in the middle, but you have to be ruthless, the chance he gets left foot, I’m sure he will be disappointed.” #MUFC

But he had no impact whatsoever on the game and appeared to be a shell of the guy who scored 30 goals for Erik ten Hag’s team in all competitions in the last 2022-23 season. Rooney stated: “You need the team to create chances for you if you are playing as a number nine. Marcus Rashford needs to be more ruthless and be patient and stay in the middle of the goal. You just want to see more from him.”
In 32 games this season, Rashford has only managed five goals and has put in a handful of lackluster performances. Rooney says that dismal returns are the result of a crisis of confidence. It remains to be seen how Rashford moves on from this slump that he is going through at the moment.
Marcus Rashford received a gift from soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo
The 26-year-old attacker for Manchester United is well-known for being a shoe enthusiast. The Old Trafford fan favorite opened up in an interview about getting a gift from his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. Three years later, Rashford would become teammates with the Portuguese icon, who had gifted him with a pair of his personal CR7 Air Max 97s, as he had announced on Instagram back in 2018.

Rashfrod said, “He was one of my favourite players growing up and I liked the shoe. I loved to wear the shoe. But, if I messed them up then I don’t know what I’d do to myself. So, I’m just better to keep them locked away.” The “Portugal Patchwork” Air Max 97s are still among the forward’s most prized possessions even after all this time.
On the contrary, Marcus has not been performing at the best levels that he usually does, he is one of the best players when he is in form but has not been able to demonstrate those performances this season. It remains to be seen how he performs in the remainder of this 2023-24 season.
