Retired soccer player Gerard Pique and his girlfriend Clara Chia Marti have obtained a restraining order against Jordi Martin. Journalist Jordi Martin has been deemed by the couple as a Shakira-obsessed journalist.
Pique‘s girlfriend filed a police complaint against Martin thus requesting a restraining order against him. Clara Chia Marti claimed that the journalist caused her “intense anguish”.

The court passed a restraining order against the journalist and restrained him from coming within 400 meters of Pique’s girlfriend for the next three months. The court concluded that even with his journalist status, he cannot cause someone “unjustifiable suffering”.
Furthermore, the court also ordered that Martin cannot come within 20 meters of Chia Marti’s friends or family for three months. The court believes that three months is “possibly sufficient” for the PR student “to recover” and “perhaps, for her to definitively lose media interest.”
The judge, however, noted that they cannot impose a restraining order on the defendant for more than 400 meters. This is because the defendant “lives by taking photos of celebrities that they do not consent to.” Thus the journalist cannot be harmed “beyond the minimum necessary, nothing, if possible.”
Jordi Martin has breached the couple’s privacy on multiple occasions. The couple had enough suffering and thus filed a complaint against him.

The former Barcelona player has been in the limelight ever since his breakup with singer Shakira last year. Furthermore, the former player and his girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, have been subjected to various criticisms from the media.
The couple finally grew tired of having their privacy breached and took the matter to court. Gerard Pique’s girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, filed a police complaint against journalist Jordi Martin. The journalist, however, has now come forward to state why the former soccer player dislikes him. Martin revealed, “I have always been closer to Shakira.”
He further continued, “I have always positioned myself with Shakira in the programs for Latin America in which she collaborated, particularly, El Gordo y la Flaca (Univisión). I think the anger comes from there.
