Gerard Pique has reportedly banned any of ex-flame Shakira’s songs from playing at his younger brother’s wedding.
As per El Nacional, none of Shakira’s chart-toppers were played at Marc, Pique’s younger brother’s wedding. This doesn’t come as a shock as Shakira has been in the limelight since her split from the ex-Barcelona center-back. In fact, most of her new releases contain subject matter that could be aimed at the World Cup winner.
One such song that went viral online was ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’, by Argentine producer and singer, Bizarrap. This was just one in a flurry of songs put out by the Colombian, and will not be the last of it either. She plans to release more songs detailing the couple’s split.
It makes sense that their break-up would form the crux of her new work’s subject matter, considering they spent 12 years together and even have two children, Milan and Sasha.
Marc Pique married Maria Valls in a ceremony in Barcelona, attended by 300+ guests. In attendance were Gerard Pique, and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, who joined in on the celebrations. The couple requested that none of Shakira’s songs be played at the wedding ceremony.
It looks like Pique did so out of spite, as Shakira requested him to drop their kids off in Miami, just prior to Marc’s wedding, despite Gerard’s plans to take them to their uncle’s wedding. As per sources, Marc’s wedding clashed with the dates that the Colombian singer had scheduled to spend time with her children, and wasn’t willing to budge.

While the news of their split has become a worldwide sensation, a lot of people still don’t know about their time together. Many assume that after 12 years and 2 kids, they must’ve probably tied the knot. However, the couple chose not to marry.
Just before their split, Shakira revealed her key reasons for not marrying the former Barcelona and Spain international. She told 60 Minutes: “To tell you the truth marriage scares the sh–t out of me. I don’t want him to see me as the wife. I want him to see me as the lover, the girlfriend. I want to keep him on his toes. I want him to think that anything’s possible depending on behavior.”
Instead, It now looks like Pique will tie the knot with Clara Chia Marti. The couple have been spotted strolling the streets of Barcelona several times now, and have become more public with their relationship. As per sources close to the couple, Pique has already given Clara Chia an engagement ring.
It seems like marriage is imminent for the ex-Barcelona center half. As things get more sour by the minute with Shakira, the Catalan will look to begin the next chapter of his love life.
