Former England soccer star David Beckham has been one of the very best of his generation. Over his glorious career, the player has played for top clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain. In his 21-year-long career, the player has achieved some incredible milestones.
The player is often recalled for the goals he has scored, especially the ones he scored from a great distance. Beckham is known for his dead-ball craft. But few of his greatest goals did come from long-range attempts that he made, the list of which is pretty huge. Amongst that list is his most famous goal which he scored in Manchester United’s match against Wimbledon in 1996.
It was back in August of ’96 when Beckham had already cemented his place as a regular starter in Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man United. The club was already winning the match 2-0 against Wimbledon that afternoon. And just when the end of the game was approaching, the English midfielder collected a pass from team-mate Brian McClair. Without even looking up, Beckham attempted a heroic effort on goal from inside his half.

The ball floated all the way over the head of Wimbledon goalkeeper Neil Sullivan. He misjudged the and was off his line, as the ball went inside the goal. To date, this magnificent piece of craft by the soccer star is termed one of the greatest-ever goals of the Premier League.
Fans haven’t yet still forgotten about the goals. Many even today praise Beckham for his ferocious strike. Some even took to the social media to praise the former Real Madrid star. One fan said, “Perfect hit, one of the best in the history.” While another commented, “Beckham was the most stylish and iconic player of the generation.” A third person praised the midfielder as he said, “Beck was phenomenal he deserves to be respected.”

According to reports, the above-mentioned goal of Beckham was voted the best opening-day goal for a Premier League season. The former England captain has stated that his goal against Wimbledon was one of the best in his 21-year soccer career.

Beckham talked about his experience. He said, “I wasn’t eating, I wasn’t sleeping, it took a toll on me that I never even knew myself. We were drowning.”

The former Manchester United star also talked about how football affected him as a student. He said, “I never really did well at school because all I ever wanted to do was play football I don’t give up easy. I don’t give up.”
Beckham also opened up about being a devoted father to his children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, even with all the fame and stardom. The player also mentioned how he and his wife Victoria went into a relationship for the first time in 1990.
