Gerard Pique has been in the headlines far more times than one could imagine this year as the football star’s off-field shenanigans have cost him his 12 years long romance with Shakira. The Barcelona star also lost the custody and time he could spend with his sons as the ex-couple have agreed to the terms and signed after their separation.

Gerard Pique gets to spend only 10 days a month with his kids

Gerard Pique and Shakira have finally signed a child custody agreement keeping them from quarrelling in court. The couple, announced their separation in June, released a statement on Tuesday following their 12-hour assembly with legal professionals.

Gerard, who emotionally retired from soccer over the weekend, is stated to have given his blessing to his former partner to move to Miami with their sons Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven. Pique wanted avoid a prolonged custody battle.

Pique and Shakira put out a joint statement: “We wish to communicate that we have signed an agreement that guarantees the welfare of our children and that will be ratified in court as part of a mere formal procedure.” According to Spanish outlets, Gerard can spend 10 days a month with his children and the entirety of three holidays, except Christmas and Summer holidays, starting next year. 

Pique and Shakira will alternate custody at 50% this Christmas, following the regional calendar of the Catalonian government. In the following years, they will do it according to the children’s school calendar and with 2023 right around the corner, this might be the last Christmas Pique gets to spend with his children in Barcelona as they will be flying to Miami with Shakira to live with her.

Gerard Pique likely to have a third child with Clara Chia Marti

After losing the custody of his sons due to his extramarital affair with one of his KOSMOS employees, Clara Chia Marti, Pique has faced many adversities in both personal and professional life.

Shakira and Pique announced their shock separation in June. Fans were disappointed as the Barcelona veteran made his relationship with Clara Chia Marti public just days after the announcement. This caused an outrage from the fans as they called Pique names and even booed him during Barcelona’s games.

Following this the Spaniard who had a year left on his contract decided to retire in the middle of the season to focus on a new chapter in his life.

According to a report by Marca Magazine, Telecinco program Socialite revealed, Gerard Pique wanted to have three children. However, the Waka Waka singer only wanted two and the former couple had a lot of arguments over the issue for years. 

In a 2016 interview, the sports star expressed his desire to become a father of three when he said, “I’ve always wanted to have three. If there is a third, I would welcome it.” After his separation from Shakira, the footballer can now have a third baby with his new girlfriend and as per Marti, it could happen soon. 

“He (Pique) has told his closest circles that he wants to have another child and this may happen in 2023.” claims Clara Chia Marti. The new couple surely seem ready for this after they were spotted kissing in the stands at Pique’s farewell game against Almeria, showing that the couple don’t have anything to hide anymore.
