Mikey Musumeci is renowned for always remaining in great shape, and the ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion has lifted the lid on what he does to maintain his ripped physique. “Darth Rigatoni” is known for his unbridled love of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and, incredibly, he dedicates 12 hours per day to honing his craft in the sport.

Believe it or not, the grueling training schedule doesn’t extend to Mikey Musumeci’s strength and conditioning regime. In a November 10 Q and A on his Instagram page, one fan asked Musumeci what he does for conditioning, and his answer was surprising.
“I think the best conditioning for jiu-jitsu is just doing jiu-jitsu, right? So, I’m really big on just doing a ton of rounds and that’s my conditioning,” he said. “But I also like climbing and running sometimes. I also do Muay Thai. Muay Thai is the hardest cardio in the world. So, when you do Muay Thai, jiu-jitsu is really easy.”

Musumeci’s training methods have served him well so far under the ONE banner, where he is unbeaten in six appearances while becoming the inaugural ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion. The Evolve MMA representative has shot to a level of global fame that has seen him rub shoulders with the likes of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and appear on the wildly popular The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
Musumeci has also struck up friendships with other superstars of the ONE roster. He has regularly been seen visiting Muay Thai legends such as former bantamweight Muay Thai king Nong-O Hama and current flyweight Muay Thai divisional ruler Rodtang Jitmuangnon as he looks to build a complete martial arts skill set ahead of a potential future switch to MMA.
