Seth Rollins’ Mount Rushmore of wrestling
The Visionary, Seth Rollins categorized his list in 2 different sections. In the ‘Entertainment Business,‘ there are two major factors that influence its growth. One is the ‘Money-Drawers‘ — the stars that draw the money and make people buy tickets to the shows and the other is the ‘In-Ring ability‘, the stars that perform the best in the ring being the essence of the business.
The Money-Drawers
‘Hollywood‘ Hulk Hogan
One of the major reasons for World Wrestling Entertainment’s success has to be ‘Hollywood‘ Hulk Hogan. From the 1980’s all the way till the early 2000’s Hulk Hogan was one of the stars leading in ticket sales and merchandise sales.
John Cena
John Cena showed up in the early 2000’s and for over fifteen years he has been the face of the company. Cena has been involved in a lot of marquee matches but beyond that Cena has the highest merchandise sales than any other WWE superstar. The leader of the CeNation also has granted the most ‘wishes‘ via the Make-A-Wish foundation than any other person in the whole wide world, with over 650 wishes.
The Rock
The Great One, is without a doubt the most popular superstar in the company. A grand success in the world of professional wrestling and is now the highest-paid actor in Hollywood. During the Rock’s period in wrestling, the viewership was over 10 million on a weekly basis.
Stone Cold Steve Austin
Steve Austin was also running the show alongside the Rock. Austin also plays a major role in getting the 10 Million viewership. Ronda Rousey calls herself the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet‘, Stone Cold Steve Austin is the Baddest Man on the Planet, in his words ‘The Baddest Son of a B****’.
Best In-Ring Talent
Shawn Michaels
The Heart-Break Kid, Shawn Michaels is one of the WWE Hall of Famers and is a Pro-Wrestling All-rounder. A master in technical wrestling, high-flyer, and a brawler. Michaels has it all and it is no surprise that Michaels is on Rollins’ Mount Rushmore. The WWE universe refers to Rollins as the modern day Shawn Michaels.
Bret ‘The Hitman‘ Hart
One of the best technical wrestlers in the business. The King of the Hart Dynasty. ‘The Best there was, the Best there is and the Best there ever will be‘. Bret Hart has dominated WCW and WWE. Hart has been part of several marquee matches in his illustrated career.
Eddie Guerrero
One of the greatest losses for professional wrestling was the demise of Eddie Guerrero. Starting at a young age, the man was one of the most gifted superstars in the business. One of the most innovative minds, a technical genius in the ring. A quote revolves around the world of wrestling that ‘Eddie Guerrero is most likely the favorite wrestler of your favorite wrestler.’ This quote alone speaks volumes of how great of a wrestler the Latino Heat was.
Bryan Danielson
The other three wrestlers in the list are legends, Danielson is still wrestling. I think that itself shows how good Danielson is. One of the best things about Danielson is that he is still learning every day and is improving himself day by day. Bryan has learnt and pretty much mastered all the skills required to be an All-rounder. Rollins would also love to have a match with Bryan one day.
This is an honest list in my opinion. In fact, Rollins has nailed it, when it comes to the Best-in Ring Talent.
