Nick Kyrgios has garnered more attention than players like Nadal and Djokovic at this year’s Wimbledon. The talk has not just been for his tennis but also for other controversial things that Kyrgios is famous for. However, the Aussie thinks he has matured over time and has come a long way.
During his post-match press conference, Kyrgios narrated an incident from the past where he had to play Nadal in Round 2 of Wimbledon. Instead of practicing or resting, he was at the pub one night before. The incident only showed how immature he was just three years ago.
Kyrgios today: “There was a time where I was having to be forced out of a pub at 4am to play Nadal second round. My agent had to come get me out of a pub at 4am before I played my match on Centre Court at Wimbledon. I’ve come a long way, that’s for sure.” https://t.co/uTQvlkBrtS

For the unversed, Kyrgios faced Brandon Nakashima in the pre-quarters. He looked a bit rusty and the match went to the fifth set. However, Kyrgios came out on top to advance to the next round. He will now face Cristian Garín in the quarterfinals.
Nick Kyrgios credits his support staff and girlfriend for his maturity
As per Kyrgios, he has matured over time because of the people around him. During the matches, his family along with his girlfriend are always supporting him from the stands. He also repeatedly looks at them after every point.

My best friend is my agent. I’ve got the best girlfriend in the world. I’ve just got so many people around me, they just support me.”
Kyrgios has seen enough trouble in Wimbledon this year. He was fined $4000 for his unsportsmanlike conduct during his match against Stefanos Tsitsipas. He was also fined $10000 for spitting in the direction of a spectator, who was sledging Kyrgios during his first-round match.
