The Las Vegas Raiders made some major changes in their management after firing general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels. This decision came into effect after their loss to the Detroit Lions on October 31st. New owner Mark Davis has taken immediate action after coming into force.
The Raiders have named Champ Kelly as their interim general manager, along with Antonio Pierce as the interim head coach. Josh McDaniels joined the Las Vegas Raiders from the New England Patriots before the start of the 2022 season. However, he couldn’t deliver the results with the season ending with 6-11. This time around, the Raiders were 3-5 after the loss to the Detroit Lions.
The problem for the Raiders is that NFL head coach contracts are fully guaranteed. This means that Josh McDaniels, who signed a six-year contract, has to be paid the full amount. The Raiders will reportedly have to pay McDaniels $85 million, even though he has served for only two out of six years.
NFL legend Rob Gronkowski did not hold back from calling out Josh McDaniels
Former New England Patriots man and legend Rob Gronkowski has blasted former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels. Gronkowski did not hold back his words while expressing his views on the situation. He called the situation ‘total BS’ and said it is ridiculous that Josh McDaniels will be receiving the salary of a head coach for the next 4 years.
“He signed a six-year deal as a head coach. He’s going to be paid out for those six years. So he’s getting head coach money for the next four years of his life. That’s total BS,” he said.

Rob Gronkowski said that head coaches should only be getting contracts that are half-guaranteed. He said that players receive guaranteed pay for only two or three years in a six-year contract. The same should be applied to head coaches as well.
“These coaches should only be getting contracts that are, like, halfway guaranteed. As playeres, we only get two or three years fully guaranteed out of a six-year contract.”
Rob Gronkowski is a former tight end who played for eleven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Gronkowski has won the Super Bowl a staggering four times (Super Bowl Champion in XLIX, LI, LIII, and LV). He was selected for the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team as well as the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. Furthermore, he was given Pro Bowl honors five times.
