However, after the Raiders lost 26-14 against the Detroit Lions, owner Mark Davis finally decided to fire Josh McDaniels. On the night of Halloween, when his kids were outside trick-or-treating, McDaniels was informed about Davis’ decision to relieve him of his duties. The former Raiders coach reportedly called his children back into the house to break the news to his family.

According to reports, McDaniels will receive the full sum of his six-year contract despite being terminated just after a year. The former Denver Broncos head coach will receive around $40 million from the Raiders. In addition to this, McDaniels’ former coaching staff will also receive around $25 million.
