NFL Hall of Famer Tom Brady is a huge fan of making investments every now and then. Back in July this year, there was news of the quarterback’s new acquisition. Reports suggested that he was interested in acquiring a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. The team’s owner, Mark Davis, also confirmed that Brady and the team had come to an agreement.
“We have come to an agreement for Tom Brady to become a partner in the Raiders and we have submitted it to the NFL for approval… We’re excited for Tom to join the Raiders… It’s exciting because he will be just the third player in the history of the National Football League to become an owner,” Davis said.
Everything was reportedly set, and Tom Brady just needed the approval of 24 out of the 31 other NFL team owners. However, his dream had an obstacle in the way as the NFL owners came up with a new rule. According to the new “no-equity” rule, owners cannot distribute the franchise’s equity to players or staff. As per the rule, only family members of the owners can acquire equity in the team.
Reports suggest that Raiders’ owner Davis argued a lot against this rule during the meeting. He even explained his plan of making the New England Patriots star a minor owner, but it didn’t help. Brady and Mark Davis share a friendly relationship outside work. The quarterback holds a minority stake in WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces as well.
Tom Brady was surely hell-bent on becoming a minority owner of the $6.5 billion worth of Raiders. However, the NFL superstar has still not acquired the ownership due to the new rule.
Tom Brady recently attended the Las Vegas Raiders’ game against the Dallas Cowboys
Though the dream of Tom Brady to become a minority owner of the Raiders is broken, he’s still rooting for them. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star was there on the field before the game between the Raiders and the Cowboys. The camera captured him having a word with Jerry Jones, the Cowboys’ owner, and Dak Prescott.

Not just this, the 7-time Super Bowl spent a great amount of time with the Raiders’ players and owner Davis. Tom Brady is quite passionate about the game, and it was visible in a recent video from the match. The video showed the Raiders going out on the field for the game. Brady and Davis were walking behind them, and the quarterback said “Go ruin their night”.
The NFL star might not have liked the result of the game as the Cowboys won the game by 31-16. However, it’s worth noting that it was the Cowboys’ first win and the Raiders’ first loss this preseason. The NFL might have stopped Tom Brady from acquiring ownership in the Raiders, but the quarterback is still with them.
