Vince McMahon has boiled the blood of various WWE stars because of his bookings. This hatred rose to the limelight when he was accused of a hush money scandal, which eventually compelled him to quit his position in WWE’s management. The news put the fans and stars in equally great spirits, and they didn’t stop expressing the same.
At 77, time for me to retire.

Thank you, WWE Universe.
Then. Now. Forever. Together. #WWE #thankful
A similar incident again got to the limelight when the WWE Hall Of Famer Rob Van Dam recalled the incident where he wanted to smack Vince McMahon. “I was going to say, ‘Vince, pick a hand,’ smack him on his face and see what happens then! I figured there’s no way I’m going to get fired for it. He might respect me for it, ” RVD said in the recent edition of his One Of A Kind podcast.
Why did Rob Van Dam want to smack Vince McMahon?
RVD recalls the incident from the early 2000s when he wanted to talk to McMahon but to no avail. At that time it was Triple H who was in constant talks with the WWE Hall Of Famer. After a long period of time, “I kept seeing Paul like every 15, 20 minutes. And I said, ‘Does he know that I’m here waiting to talk to him?’ “And I told Paul, ‘I’m gonna ask him to pick a hand’,” recalled RVD.
Triple H was calm enough about the situation to ask him not to do the same. The entire fuss was made because RVD didn’t want to attend the Tribute To The Troops because of his hectic schedule. While there were many stars who didn’t want to attend the event, only Rob Van Dam could gather the guts to say “No.”
How is Rob Van Dam’s relationship with Vince McMahon?
Thanks to Triple H, RVD didn’t get to see McMahon back then. With such an aggressive state of mind, it was best to keep the WWE Hall of Famer away from the company’s Executive Chairman. However, the incident didn’t stain his relationship with Vince McMahon, and the two continued to work for WWE.
RVD also recalled the incident where everybody including Shane McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon asked him to build his relationship with Vince McMahon. Bruce Pritchard went ahead to tell him to fill in John Cena’s spot as he was leaving for his Hollywood project. The idea didn’t go very well with RVD and he felt that his hard work in the ring was enough for Vince McMahon to trust him all the way.
