- WWE has hired Lee Fitting as the new head of of Media and Production.
- Fitting has been hired as the replacement of WWE's veteran worker, Kevin Dunn, who left the role recently.
In a major development, WWE confirmed the hiring of Lee Fitting as the new Head of Media and Production on January 9. As this is a significant change in the promotion’s TV department, a lot of experts wonder if this is really going to do wonders for the promotion.
As Fitting has replaced the Triple H-led promotion’s long-time employee Kevin Dunn in this role, some fans have been wondering who he actually is. The WWE universe is quite interested in knowing what the latest signing brings to the table, so let’s check out who Fitting is and also take a look at his background.
Lee previously worked with ESPN, which was owned by The Walt Disney Company. Due to being a veteran, he is one of the most respected names in the field. While working at his former workplace, he was in charge of production for programming including “Monday Night Football” and “College GameDay.”
Born in Orient, New York, Fitting is a graduate of James Madison University, as he did a B.S. in mass communication in 1996. After this, the Long Island native joined ESPN as a production assistant in 1996, but due to his commitment to work, he steadily grew into bigger roles and became an associate producer for College GameDay in 2000.
Just two years later, he was promoted to be the feature producer for SportsCenter and College GameDay. In 2015, Lee was promoted to Vice President of College Sports, and later in 2017, he got the role of Vice President of Production. After great success, the 24-year company veteran was promoted to his most recent position in 2019, but he eventually left the organization to join the WWE.
Why are some WWE employees disappointed with Lee Fitting’s signing?
While WWE would have expected a great response to Lee Fitting’s hiring, there have been reports that this isn’t the case. As per Wrestling News, some employees from the organization are unhappy over this hiring in the Triple H-led promotion.
It has been revealed that Lee’s signing has started a lot of talk among workers in the production and TV departments. A major reason behind this reaction is that some of them weren’t happy with the fact that an “outsider” would now be above them in terms of hold over the product.

On the other hand, others have been worried if Fitting would bring in his own people to replace the employees working in the WWE for years. Few believe that the company could have promoted someone like Executive Vice President of Television Chris Kaiser or lighting and set director Jason Robinson, as they’ve been very valuable resources for the company.
Despite all such discussions, there’s also a certain group of workers who are currently just waiting to see what actually happens. With so many talks going within WWE due to the hiring of Fitting, it remains to be seen how the product will be under the former ESPN executive’s tenure in the Triple H-led promotion.
