The UFC sensation Conor McGregor seems to attract more and more trouble after his visit to Miami for the NBA finals. The former UFC champion was alleged of sexually harassing and r*ping a woman during the NBA finals.
The incident was reported to happen during the finals between Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. The incident, which reportedly took place on June 9 was first reported by TMZ. Footage related to the accusation that shows Conor and the accuser going to the bathroom has also been going viral.
Following the release of the video, McGregor’s counsel Barbara R. Llanes (via Kessler PR Group) released the following statement to MMA Fighting in response to the video.
“After the video was released by TMZ, the claimant’s lawyer now has changed her story. Mr McGregor welcomes the investigation, which he firmly believes will show the claims against him are false. After not responding to the demand for money made by the claimant’s counsel, she turned to the media to apply pressure. This is no more than a shakedown.”
Attorney Ariel Mitchell, who represents the alleged victim, through her demand letters told the media that the accused was separated from her friend by Heat and NBA security, and was forced inside the bathroom of the arena.
After which, McGregor, according to accusations, forced himself upon her and even went to the extent of attempting to r*pe her. But as per the footage released, Conor was not seen ‘forcing’ her to the bathroom, which contradicts the original allegations.
As of now, no charges are pressed against ‘The Notorious’ for this incident, and neither has he been arrested. On the same day, Conor also got into trouble for brutally knocking out the Miami Heat Mascot, which he later clarified to be a skit.
Conor McGregor’s previous sexual harassment allegations
As history suggests, this is not the first time Conor was accused of inappropriate behavior.
McGregor was previously accused by a woman in 2019 that Conor had r*ped her in 2018 in Dublin. Following the accusations, Conor’s team rejected all allegations, and no charges were pressed against him. However, the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ was sued by the alleged victims in 2021.
In 2020, Conor was accused of indecent exposure and attempted sexual assault on the island of Corsica. As a result, he was detained by French authorities, he even had to spend two days in custody. However, charges were dropped after eight months due to lack of evidence.
The most recent assault charge against Conor was pressed by an unnamed woman in her 40s. She claimed that Conor had first, verbally, and then physically assaulted her in a yacht in Ibiza during his birthday celebration. The woman sued Conor but withdrew her complaint in February without any reason.
