UFC CEO Dana White has given a huge update about Conor McGregor’s return to the Octagon. The Irish fighter has not hidden his feelings about wanting to return to fighting early in 2024. White, who has tried to push the return dates further, has claimed that he is trying to work something out.
Fans are hoping to see McGregor in the main event of the milestone PPV UFC 300. However, the Notorious One’s coach John Kavanagh recently claimed that the UFC is trying to push his return dates to the summer of 2024.
On Wednesday evening, White appeared on an Instagram Live. The UFC chief does so regularly to keep the fans updated. On the Live, he was asked about an update on McGregor’s return. According to MMA Orbit on X, White claimed, “We talked tonight. I’m in Abu Dhabi, he’s in Dubai. We’re gonna figure something out. We’re talking.”

This comes as a relief for McGregor’s fans as they have not seen him fight for years. The last time McGregor stepped into the Octagon was against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264. It was their trilogy fight and ‘Diamond’ won that fight via TKO to make it 2-1 in his favor. McGregor suffered a leg break as Poirier efficiently blocked McGregor’s kicks to cause severe damage.

Since that fight, McGregor has been nursing his injury and has been out of action. He was rumored to make his return by the end of 2023, however, that did not materialize. McGregor went on a public rant and blasted the UFC as he claimed no one has been treated the way he has been.
