She said, “As we were waiting, taking a break from the meeting and everybody’s in line for the buffet for lunch during the lunch break, somebody grabs my a**,” Buss said. “I turn around and I was so shocked.” “I just gave him a dirty look, like back off,” Buss said on the show.
Jeanie had little involvement with the LA Lakers but in 1995, her father offered her a larger one. She then represented the team as the senior executive. She opened up on an incident that took place 30 years ago now, this sends a message to the society that the NBA needs to promote gender equality more frequently.
The Lakers won 6 championships with Jennie Buss as the owner
Jeanie Buss was a senior executive with the Los Angeles Lakers during the time her father was still living. The team was to remain under the ownership of Jerry Buss’ family. Jeanie was going to concentrate on business, while his son Jim would take care of all things basketball-related.
Jeanie served as the Lakers’ vice president of basketball operations from 1999 until Jerry died in 2013. Even though each child had an equal stake in the team, she was named governor after his passing. She then gradually began to delve more into the basketball aspect of things.
Jeanie has guided the Lakers through both prosperous and difficult periods while serving as owner. When LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the team to a championship in 2020, it was her proudest accomplishment. She has won six championships as the owner of the Lakers.
Jennie Buss has faced major backlash from Lakers fans
In 2020, Buss shared a letter she received from a self-described former LA Lakers fan on social media. The individual attacked Buss for the salaries she and the NBA have been paying athletes in recent years in a letter full of hateful, racist remarks.
Not only that, She has also faced major backlash from the Lakers fans for various reasons, the Lakers not performing well in the 2021-2022 season is one of them. However, through all this, she did not make a big deal out of it and kept going with her duties as a respectable owner.

She stated on Instagram that while she had previously refrained from responding to some hate mail, this particular message had gone too far. Buss included a picture of the note and added, “After much thought, I decided to share this letter I received on Monday so that everyone can see the hate is real and living out there. This is happening in our world TODAY. It’s real and it exists…”.
Buss has always been a loyal Lakers fan before being an owner and her work ethic is on another level to many owners in the sports industry. Her love for the sport and her team has been immense. She has been trying her best to bring back success to the Lakers once again.
