SUMMARY
- Randy Orton has been in the pro wrestling industry for over two-decades.
- The Viper started his ongoing run with WWE with his return at Survivor Series 2023.
WWE’s Legend Killer, Randy Orton, has been a fan-favorite in the Triple H-led promotion ever since his debut. The 43-year-old pro wrestler has been working in the industry for over two decades, and he’s still doing exceptionally well as a top performer in the organization.
While Randy has fought all the legendary pro wrestlers in his decades-long career, The Viper still has a dream match on his list. As revealed by Orton during a recent interview, he wants to go one-on-one against a future Hall of Famer who hasn’t won a single fight in over five years.
The Legend Killer shared this during his recent appearance on the promotion’s The Bump show. In fact, the reason why a lot of people might have felt surprised by his answer is that he chose The Cenation Leader, John Cena, to have a match with in the near future in WWE.
“A dream match for me would be to somehow find myself in a situation where I’m fighting @JohnCena at #WrestleMania for the title.” 👀👀👀

The fact that makes the situation even more interesting is that the 14-time World Champion shared that he wants to fight him for the top prize in the company. The 6-foot-5 legend said, “A dream match for me would be to somehow find myself in a situation where I’m fighting @JohnCena at #WrestleMania for the title.”
With neither Cena nor Orton currently in a title-reign, them fighting each other for a championship will surely need long-term planning. In addition to this, John hasn’t been seen in the promotion since his loss to Solo Sikoa; thus, it remains to be seen when he’ll be making a comeback. Moreover, it’ll be interesting to see if he’ll then feud with The Viper or not.
Randy Orton and John Cena’s rivalry has been an iconic one
Whether Randy gets the opportunity to fight Cena at WrestleMania or not isn’t known, but they already have a lot of history together. The Viper and The Cenation Leader have been two of the biggest superstars of their generation, and their rivalry has been an iconic one.
Their association in the pro wrestling world started way back in 2002, when the two were still in Ohio Valley Wrestling. In what was the start of one of the greatest rivalries in history, John defeated The Legend Killer to go one up against Orton.
Following this, the feud was reignited in 2007, when both of them had already established their names. In fact, it was the time when Cena teamed up with Shawn Michaels to dethrone The Viper and Edge from their tag titles. After this, they went one-on-one against each other on numerous occasions and became a top pick in terms of WWE storylines.
After this, they went one-on-one against each other on numerous occasions and became a top pick in terms of WWE storylines. They went against each other after short breaks for the next few years, but then their feud was put on hold for over three years.
In what was the restart of the feud, the two were involved in a title Unification match in 2013, which was won by The Legend Killer after an epic encounter. The Stamford-based promotion continued the feud over the next few months and took it into 2014. At the end, it was at Hell in a Cell 2014, when the two faced each other for the last time at a pay-per-view.
Is there a possibility of a Randy Orton vs John Cena feud in the near future?
As the two veterans had a full-fledged rivalry nearly a decade ago, WWE might be tempted to have them in a rivalry again. Moreover, athe 14-time WWE Champion has again shown interest in a feud with John Cena, it’s highly possible that we get to see them going one-on-one in probably their last feud against each other in the near future.
But, Randy Orton shared that he wants to have a match with The Cenation Leader for a title match at WrestleMania, it remains to be seen what the plans will be. If, the promotion decides to have these legends add one final chapter to rivalry, it’ll break records, as the WWE universe will be cherishing it immensely.
