SUMMARY
- WWE Royal Rumble 2024 started with a major surprise as Pat McAfee made a return to the Triple H-led promotion.
- Some fans aren't really happy about his return, and the reason behind it is Vince McMahon.
Despite the backlash WWE has been receiving amid the lawsuit against Vince McMahon, the company has started Royal Rumble 2024 with a banger. Giving fans a major surprise, at the start of the show, Pac McAfee made a shocking return to the commentary team of the premium live event.
While most of the fans have been left excited by such a great start to the PLE, others have a different opinion about his appearance. In fact, some pro wrestling enthusiasts have been claiming that the recent allegations against Mr. McMahon are what led the promotion to bring Pat back to get some positive PR.
Claiming that the former NFL star’s return doesn’t add any value, someone from the pro wrestling community wrote, “Pat McAfee adds absolutely nothing.” “Pat a good company man. They called in the back up after the Vince news,” another WWE fan wrote on X, while claiming that McAfee has been called back due to the recent allegations against Mr. McMahon. (Via- X)
Looking at the kind of comments some fans have made about McAfee’s return, it seems they feel it’s a way of hiding everything going around Vince. Is it really the reason why WWE called back the popular American figure? Even if yes, those who love Pat’s work won’t be complaining about him showing up at the Royal Rumble event.
Janel Grant’s s*x trafficking lawsuit has forced Vince McMahon into resignation
While the former NFL player’s return might be a try by WWE to distract the fans from Janel Grant’s s*x trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon, the former CEO has also done his part to clear his name. In a statement after the lawsuit was filed, Mr. McMahon denied all the allegations.
Vincent has claimed that he’s innocent, as he said, “I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name.” In addition to this, the 78-year-old has also resigned from all his positions in the TKO Group and WWE. And it’s absolutely true that Grant’s lawsuit has forced Vince into resignation.
Vince McMahon’s statement to @DEADLINE:
“I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth. I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless…

It must be noted that it was on January 25, when the pro wrestling community was stunned with serious allegations against Mr. McMahon. Accusing the pro wrestling figure of s*xual assault, Janel accused him of using him for pleasure and revealed how the veteran promised her to pay $3 million but didn’t fulfil the agreement he agreed to.
After Kennedy failed to pay her the amount he signed the NDA for, the former WWE CEO was taken to court by Grant. Ever since the news of a s*x trafficking lawsuit against the 78-year-old became public, the industry hasn’t been the same. As Vince has denied the accusations made against him, everyone is keen to know who is actually guilty in this whole controversy.
